DIR EN GREY touring Europe with two iconic albums—nostalgia guaranteed!

In March 2024, acclaimed Japanese Progressive Metal band DIR EN GREY will bring their EUROPE TOUR24 FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ [mode of Withering to death. & UROBOROS] to Poland, France, the UK, and Germany. It’s been four years since the band toured Europe. They’ve got something special up their sleeves: The five musicians are not only bringing one concert set but two with [mode of Withering to death.] and [mode of UROBOROS] being played on consecutive days in all cities of the tour except Oberhausen, Germany.

DIR EN GREY started the FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ tour series in 2016, bringing their older studio albums back on stage. The upcoming European tour highlights the two very nostalgic albums Withering to death. (2005) and UROBOROS (2008), which set the roots of the band’s overseas success. In 2005, DIR EN GREY celebrated their European debut with their 5th studio album, Withering to death. The concerts of the short but persuasive TOUR05 It Withers and Withers in Berlin and Paris sold out without promotion, giving them a solid start for future touring in Europe. Having them return with the album that kicked off their overseas career is nostalgic in every way.
The band returned to Europe with Withering to death. in 2006 and with the following studio album Marrow of a Bone (2007) the next year. In 2009, DIR EN GREY toured Europe with their 7th studio album, UROBOROS, and attended festivals like The Download Festival, Nova Rock, and Metaltown alongside big names like Slipknot and Metallica. DIR EN GREY’s latest release—after setting another milestone with their 11th studio album, PHALARIS (2022)—takes another look back in time: The single 19990120 comprises re-recordings of the band’s debut singles Yurameki, Zan, and Akuro no Oka.
