Not even a minute late, Billlie kicked their show off with their most successful song, GingaMingaYo, which made the audience hype the seven girls right from the start. After three songs, the group did their greetings and introductions, connecting with the audience on another level than with their music.
An interpreter helped the audience to understand and translated everything, apart from the few sentences the girls tried to say in German themselves. Tsuki [츠키] and Suhyeon [수현] were the ones mimicking the translator’s words the most with describing gestures, making the fans laugh.
During the concert, the group split in smaller groups of two to four members, so the audience would be entertained throughout the night with various sessions. At some point, they held unit stages they’ve specifically practiced for the tour.
Tsuki, Haruna [하루나], and Sheon [션] were the first to perform a with two dance covers. First up was Kill This Love by BLACKPINK [블랙핑크], followed by Standing Next to You from BTS member Jung Kook [정국]. The fans, Belllie’ve, were amazed at how powerful the girls’ dance skills are. Haram [하람] and Suhyeon gave an impressive vocal performance with the song Rewrite the Stars from the soundtrack of Greatest Showman. And last but not least, Moon Sua [문수아] and Siyoon [시윤] proved their talent by singing and dancing to Pink Venom by BLACKPINK.
Throughout the show, Billlie played all of their top hits, beloved B sides, seven-member versions of their songs released while they had members on hiatus, and English versions of Japanese tracks. With every song, they showed their cheerful attitude and talent.
Typical for K-Pop shows, they also let their fans take a peak into the behind the scenes of the tour. A pre-recorded tour practice video was shown midway the concert. But some of the girls also had some personal TMI, ›too much information‹ talks, to share like buying lots of chocolate at a German gas station and eating pizza the night before. Grateful messages were also said in person and through an emotional video from each member.
Summed up, although the concert was not sold out it didn’t make a difference for the good mood being spread this evening. Belllie’ve were excited, joyful, dedicated, and fully engaged with the show. Even if you weren’t a fan of Billlie before, you at least reconsidered becoming one afterwards.
There was not a single moment to be bored as there was always something interesting happening on stage. It was as much the fun performances as much as the personalities of the seven girls that kept you fascinated. Their charisma and talents absolutely carried the show despite not having a big budget set or a dance crew.
