Ichika Nito is a songwriter and exceptional guitarist hailing from Tokyo, Japan, highly praised as an internet star by music media. But acknowledgment of his skills doesn’t end there, it also comes from other artists and music producers such as Zedd, Martin Garrix, and John Cunningham. Ichika Nito also received support from guitarists such as John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Pete Townshend (The Who).
He has toured Europe and Germany in 2023—and returned this year, finally giving us the chance to experience his exceptional combination of complex techniques and easily recognizable sound live at Berlin’s Privatclub.
The venue slowly filled up and suddenly, before you knew it, it was fully packed to the last centimeter. You would expect a young audience for this artist, but in fact almost all age groups were represented and celebrated the sought-after guitar virtuoso.
If you imagined a single performer to be too repetitive throughout a concert, you would certainly be mistaken. Ichika Nito thrilled us with a variety of quiet ballads to faster songs, and his influence from guitarist Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), whom he talked about in an interview in Gitarre & Bass in 2023, was also noticeable. During the evening, Ichika Nito thanked his many fans coming to the intimate concert and announced a new album. He also plans to come back to Europe and hopefully Germany in 2025!
We would like to thank Ichika Nito for the wonderful evening and are looking forward to see experience him live again soon. We can only recommend everyone to attend one of his concerts and have an extraordinary evening with relaxed guitar sounds to various genres and stunning guitar techniques live.
