The talented singer Ado [アド] is currently touring the world for the first time with her Ado “Wish” World Tour 2024! The Asian leg of the tour with six shows is about to end, but Europe and the US can be excited about the upcoming four concerts each. The tour is powered by the global anime distributor Crunchyroll.

Ado started her career online as part of the utaite [歌い手] community, a sub-culture of singers covering songs and sharing their recordings online, soon arousing attention with her singing skills. In 2020, she made her major debut with Universal Music Japan, aged 17.

Ado remains anonymous, neither sharing her name nor showing her face. Nevertheless, she connects with her fans through her powerful voice that shines with diversity and texture exceptional for her young age. The singer tackles societal expectations, personal struggles, and the pursuit of individuality.

She also gained international attention, including but not limited to providing her singing voice for the character Uta [ウタ] in the 2022 anime film ONE PIECE FILM RED. Ado recorded seven songs for the movie’s soundtrack, including the theme song New Genesis, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart and also reached the #1 position on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global Chart. Fans of Japanese Rock will probably have heard her touching cover of TK from Ling Tosite Sigure’s song unravel.

For Ado’s last album, Ado’s Utattemita Album [Adoの歌ってみたアルバム] (2023.12.13), the artist asked her fans to submit Vocaloid and J-Pop songs, from which ten songs were selected. “Utattemita” [歌ってみた] means “try to sing” and refers to the singing category utaite singers are publishing on the web portal Nico Nico Douga. Ado’s latest single release, Value, dropped yesterday.
